Installing the MAKO (Rapid On/Off) Camera Mounting System

What you will need:

STEP 1
Install “Low Profile Mounting Base Plate” in desired location. If the side of your stock is not a perfect 90 degree angle, don’t worry. The “Camera Arm” can easily be shaped according to your exact needs.

STEP 2
Fasten the “Camera Arm” to the “Low Profile Base Plate” using one of the “Control Knobs” and mark the “Camera Arm” where it is level with the bottom of the stock. It is a good idea to add about ¼ inch to allow for the radius of the bend.

STEP 3
Place the “Camera Arm” in a vice and make your bend according to your mark and bend to the desired angle needed to allow for the “Camera Arm” to be positioned horizontally. In this example, the side of the wood is at 90 degrees so the bend is 90 degrees. However, not all wood guns have a 90 degree side profile so an easy adaptation can be made by increasing or decreasing the angle of the bend.

STEP 4
Install the “Camera Arm" on the “Low Profile Base Plate” and mark where you want the camera to be placed and drill a hole where needed. The camera can be positioned far enough from the gun to allow for easy loading.

STEP 5
Install the camera on the “Camera Arm” and mark where the “Camera Arm” is to be cut. After cutting, it is a good idea to round the edges. Then, install the camera onto the “Camera Arm” and you are ready to install the “Camera Arm” onto the “Low Profile Base Plate”. Screws and threads must be well greased with the included marine grease for easy removal!

Below is an example of the “Inline Mount” method. In this photo, you can see the “Low Profile Base Plate” was installed on a portion of the gun that was not at 90 degrees. As you can see, the “Camera Arm” was simply bent slightly to compensate for the angle, thus making for a perfect horizontal image from the camera.
